Alfred Lai joined AKAA in 1972, a year after the firm was established and became the Managing Director in 1985. With his ability and experience in project management, coordination of project teams and contract administration, and his thorough understanding of building laws, Mr. Lai has been an invaluable asset to the company.

Mr. Lai received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1970. He sought professional experience at Hsin Yieh Architects & Associates and Wong & Ouyang & Associates before he joined AKAA. In his thirty years of practice, Mr. Lai has managed numerous projects of different natures. He is the Project Director of the Government School Improvement Programme projects handled by AKAA. He has also managed and supervised design teams for major residential and commercial projects in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan and Shenzhen.
